Three Times To Get Professional Headshots Done | RI Headshot Photographer
Most of us have a professional headshot done at least once in our lives. As a RI headshot photographer, I do headshots for my clients for a variety of reasons, both personal and professional. The options for headshots are varied and depend on the client’s needs and wishes. They can be more traditional headshots done indoors in my studio or they can be outdoors in an urban or rural environmental scene. They can even be done indoors at your place of business.
It can be confusing to know when to have headshots done, especially if you’ve had them done in the past. Should you update them now or no? If you’ve never had them done before, is now the right time? Never fear, I’m here to help and let you know three times you should have professional headshots done. Read on to get the details!
WHEN YOU’VE NEVER HAD HEADSHOTS BEFORE
Put simply, if you’ve never had professional headshots ever before, there is no time like the present to get them done. It’s never a bad thing to have a headshot for use on LinkedIn, social media, and more.
If you’ve never head headshots before AND you recently graduated college and are job searching, or are a model or actor just starting out, you absolutely need good headshots! They show the world who you are and allow you to put your best foot (face?) forward.
It’s important to work with a photographer who understands especially when it comes to your first headshot so that your photos and your experience can be exactly what you want and need.
WHEN YOU’VE RECENTLY CHANGED JOBS
Whether you’ve moved to another job within the same industry or made a complete career change, now is the perfect time to have new professional headshots taken. They can be used in many ways: on new business cards, on social media, websites, and on other branding platforms.
WHEN YOU HAVEN’T HAD YOUR HEADSHOTS UPDATED IN AWHILE
Kids have school photos every year, and for many of my family portrait clients, we do their family photos every year or two so that they’re current and they have images of their kids as the kids change and grow.
The same goes for professional headshots. Even if you haven’t changed jobs, keeping a headshot fresh (thinking getting one every five years or fewer) is a best practice so you can keep websites, business cards, and socials updated.
You stay current in your field and you want your image to portray that you’re current, too!
So is it time to get your headshots updated? Let’s do it! Call (401) 749-6934 and we’ll plan your perfect headshot session.
