The M's Holiday Photo Session • Rhode Island Family Photographer
This photo session was definitely one of my favorites this holiday season. I've known this family for some time and have had the pleasure of photographing them several times in the past: their maternity session (which still ranks as the best maternity session I've ever done) and Van's 6-month photos early last spring. They make me love my job as a Rhode Island family photographer.
Mom Makala had a vision for their holiday shoot: the whole family in matching white t-shirts, jeans, Vans, and awesome hair. Oh, and tattoos. When they arrived at my Peace Dale studio, it was clear that they'd accomplished this look. (If your one-year-old doesn't have tattoos, not to worry: the temporary tattoo field has improved greatly since I was a kid and they now make some really awesome and realistic temporary tattoos!)
Mr. Van was not as excited about photos as he was the last time we had a shoot. There were much more fun things to do in the studio than sit and take photos! Not to worry, though...we got it done. Whatever it takes. Upside down baby? Baby holding drumsticks? Baby throwing the reflector to one of my studio lights? Baby on dad's shoulder? All of these are so much better than your average everyday posed family shot. At the end of the shoot there also happened to be a few photos of Jus with his skateboard. Wrapped up like a baby. This was Makala's brilliant idea and these are some of my favorite photos that I've ever taken. Want to see them? Take a look below. Which one is your favorite? Let me know in the comments!
