Newborn babies are magical. They’re so tiny (usually!) and it’s so amazing to think that each and every one of us was once a little newborn. You hold them and you can’t help but think, “There’s a whole big world out there for you to explore, baby.”

Several weeks ago I had the pleasure of photographing newborn baby R in my Charlestown, RI studio. As a RI newborn photographer, it’s always an honor to photograph families as they grow. I’ve taken photos of R’s older brothers as well as his entire family. It was so nice to finally meet him at the ripe old age of six days old.

He’s very handsome like his brothers, and such a calm baby. Mom reports he’s still maintaining that reputation. He did make it known that he preferred being wrapped up and cozy, but made barely a peep throughout our entire session and enjoyed several naps throughout. It’s hard work to be a newborn, especially when it involves getting your photos taken!
