My Favorite Locations: Charlestown Pine Forest• RI Family Photographer
Wooded locations are some of my favorites to photograph in. They provide a great backdrop for photos. Of course, the problem with living somewhere with four seasons is that we don't have any leaves on our trees for about 5 months of the year. Winter is beautiful in its own way, and I've had some fabulous sessions with gorgeous winter light and no leaves on the trees. That said, sometimes some color in the background is a good thing.
As a RI family photographer, I'm constantly location scouting to find perfect locations for sessions. And for those who like a pop of green in their photos no matter the season, this Charlestown location is perfect!
This peaceful path is part of a preserve in a quiet, rural part of Charlestown. It's lined with trees of different types, but the majority are large pine trees. This location is somewhere I've gone to lots and have recently started incorporating into my location repertoire after realizing how perfect it would be!
Because of the tall, beautiful pines lining the path, the background is always green, even when the leaves on deciduous trees have not yet bloomed. In fact, all the photos in this post were taken before any of the leaves had popped out on the trees. All that green is from the pine trees!
This location is suitable for all kinds of sessions: family, senior, siblings, and princess sessions. The long path offers ample room for little ones to run and play. When the sun's out, there is beautiful light filtering through the trees.
Even cloudy days at this spot are great, though, because the greens of the pine trees really pop!
Looking for a bite to eat after your session? The Rathskeller and The Nordic Lodge are both very close by and offer very different but equally awesome experiences!
