July is my favorite month. It has been for as long as I can remember. As a child, it meant no school, long summer days and nights sleeping in front of the hum of a window fan. Trips to my grandparents' pool, or the beach if one of my aunts took us. It meant a trip to the fireworks and popsicles. It was the long stretch that seemed to go on forever between June, when school ended, and August, which was the last month of summer vacation.

As an adult, summer has a little bit of a different look; there's a little more responsibility and the trips to my grandparents' pool are no more (though my parents have a pool of their own!) There are still window fans and there is still the beach. As a RI children's photographer, it's one of the best months in the year for photos...warm nights, long evenings with great light. A photographer's dream! The first half of July had beautiful light, trips to the ocean, kombucha, the cat (of course), flowers, and more. Ah, summer!
