Light In The Woods • South Kingstown RI Children's Photographer
Do you have a spot that you really, really love? Perhaps it's a place that you like to walk, bike, or just sit quietly and be at peace. For me, Thewlis Trail in South Kingstown, RI is one of the places I love. It's one of the South Kingstown Land Trust properties; it's a beautiful wooded area with trails in the middle of a residential area. (If you haven't been, you should go!) It's great for quiet walks or trail runs.
Of course, as a photographer, I notice light everywhere I go, and Thewlis Trail has got plenty of gorgeous light. Ever since I shot Miss E's forest princess session there last December, it's been a goal to be able to shoot there again. Recently I got a chance to do so when I had a session with another Miss E! We had our session on a mild day shortly before the first day of spring. Miss E's tutu color went nicely with the fallen leaves on the forest floor. (I made the tutu; stay tuned to the blog for an upcoming tutorial! If I can do it, you can do it.) The light was gorgeous for much of our session! As an added bonus, mom's scarf was on hand to keep Miss E warm when the sun dropped and it made a great accessory!
